First Week of March
Hello! This past week has been very crazy. It was Northeasterns spring break so everyone had visitors in our apartment. It was hectic and messy and a lot of fun! I also had two midterms last Tuesday, both were worth 25% of my final grade, and I did really well on them! I got an 87 on my finance midterm and I don't know about the business law exam but I'm very confident I did great. On Thursday, my friend Terri came in from Boston to spend the weekend with me! She took a tour of the Vatican while I was in class Thursday afternoon and then we went to dinner at this great little restaurant in Trastevere. On Friday we did a lot of siteseeing and I brought her to the Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill, the Pantheon, Trevi fountain and Via del Corso. I got to use my Art History of Rome knowledge and tell her everything I learned from that class! Friday night we ate at this incredible restaurant called Carlo Menta. Besides the fact that it was dirt cheap, it was the best food I've ever tasted in my life. To start I got an artichoke Roman style, which is basically a marinated artichoke and it is TO DIE FOR and she got foccacia bread with rosemary and sea salt. The foccacia came out like a pizza, only with know cheese or sauce. It was delicious. Then she got this dish called Pasta Carlo Menta and it was almost like carbonara but more delicious. It was like sweet pasta with some kind of meat and peas. I got rigitoni gorgonzola and wow it was incredible. For dessert Terri got the tiramisu and I got panna cotta with raspberry sauce. It was soooo good. So I am definitely going to go back there for dinner one night. Also last Tuesday I actually played in a soccer game and I did okay! For never having played before coming to Italy I was pretty proud of myself. So I am still having the time of my life and really love it here, but I'm starting to miss my doggie :(.
